As I understand it, you accomplished your mission between the hours of 11:00 pm and 12:15 am. I heard the "targets"arrived at the location only shortly before the attack and failed to detect your presence. Could it be that they were already in bed!
Next time - leave a calling card and don't leave evidence (like footprints!)
